Valentine’s Day!

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner we have quite a bit of “love in the air” which as the statistics show at the bottom can be costly for the one day out of the year. So we have a few ways we can think of for you to save a few dollars while still showing those you care about how you feel about them.

We have our hopeless romantics, who spoil their special someone with flowers, chocolates, a cute card and fancy dinners. Then there are the realists out there who treat Valentine’s Day as just another normal day. And finally, we have the girls that want to spend their day with their Galentine(s). Whichever you are and however you plan to spend your time and money next Friday, remember you can do it without breaking your bank (or a heart because that’s not enjoyable and hard to bounce back from).

A Valentine’s Day spending tip: If your budget is tight but you still want to get your special someone flowers, instead of ordering a dozen red roses from a florist, go to the local grocery store or big department store and choose from the many colorful bouquets they have for sale. (And remember, not everyone is crazy about roses.)

Another Valentine’s Day spending tip: Going out to eat is great and all but sometimes it’s just as fun, cheap, and easy to make a meal at home or in the basement of a res hall too. It can save you money and you’ll be able to cook with your special someone or friends.

There are plenty of things to do next week within the La Crosse area, both on and off campus, to save you money as well.

On campus:

Thursday, Feb. 12th– Kat McDowell will be performing at 6 p.m. in the Cellar. FREE Concert!

Friday, Feb. 13th Night on the Slopes. Sign up ASAP if you are interested!
